Interview: 15 April 2010
Tell us about your music – how did you develop your sound?
Well originally we formed cause we kind of bonded over the same music but as we grew a little older everyone spanned off and developed different tastes. Our sound has really been a progression of the last few years, recording our EP helped to get us on the right track, but over the last few months we've really knuckled down and tried to create something a bit more cohesive. I couldn't really tell you how our sound was developed cause we're still very much in the process.
What can the Groovin the Moo audience expect from your live show?
I don't even know what to expect yet. I know Nipuna and Jack (Singers/Guitarists) have some ideas so I suppose you'll just have to wait and see. I'm guessing it'll be a lot of energy and maybe some kind of theatrics. One thing that I don't like doing is just walking on stage and playing each song as they were recorded, start to finish, and walk off. Something will happen.
Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Groovin the Moo?
Definitely Spoon. They're one band I've followed for a very long time and I hear they are killer live. Also it'll be interesting to see Empire Of The Sun, just to watch how Luke Steele and his band pull off the album live.
What’s coming up in the future?
A new EP. We're kind of home producing a lot of it this time around, spending more time on sounds and melodies rather than getting a 36 hours to quickly squeeze out 5 tracks. It should be a lot different to our last release.
Australian music is?
Closely tied but hugely diverse.
